Hollyhocks, Purple Kale and Zinnias

Her garden was a riot of color. I could see snatches of it peeking between the pine boughs on the other side of the fence where I was visiting. She clustered her flowers so they looked like the cover of a magazine, and she let me photograph them.

I was well enough to cover more than a six inch canvas today. Things are looking up!

Riot of Zinnias

"Riot of Zinnias"'
24" x 24"
Oil on wrapped canvas
Late last summer when the flowers were at their most vibrant, and had actually swelled to overabundance, I photographed this "Riot of Zinnias."

I splashed and dashed on color, yet it didn't look enough like summer. So I took my Colour Shaper thingie and drew over some of the petals. The added texture makes it riotous!

Thanks for looking.

Peg's Garden Bench

"Peg's Garden Bench"
20" x 16"
Oil on wrapped canvas
Grasshoppers snap from leaf to bloom throughout Peg's garden, where everyone, no matter how many legs, is welcome. Some flutter, some nest, some come to sit and soak up the fragrance.

Peg's Garden Bench is a tribute to my dear friend's zest for life.  Peg has lovingly tended her front garden in Long Grove, Illinois, not just for her own pleasure, but for those who have purposely taken her road to delight their eyes.  This is a minuscule section of her great talent as a tender-of-flowers.  Thank you Peg.

Peg's Garden Bench can be seen on Dailypaintworks.com in my Gallery, where it can also be purchased.

Thanks for stopping by to visit today.
