Chocolate Covered Cherries

"Chocolate Covered Cherries"
5" x 5"
Pastel on hardboard
A friend send a photo of chocolate covered cherries in a heart-shaped silver bowl.  My son sent three cases of Nitrile gloves to me so I can continue to paint with pastels without my skin cracking and absorbing the toxins in the pigments. I feel loved at a time when I'm more than a little insecure.

Golden Needles

"Golden Needles"
8" x 10"
Acrylic on canvas panel

When the moon zapped a silvery sheen over the snow in the forest, the pines preferred gold, and took on a glow of their own.

What started as an exercise in two colors on black, became a finished piece in short order. The sparse gold "needles" spoke the essence of forest on top of the metallic silver paint, so I left it to dry.  I made another one or two in metallic colors, that I'll post over the next couple of days.

Candy! Hearts!

"Candy! Hearts!"
16" x 20"
Oil on wrapped canvas
Judy loves candy as much as she loves hearts.  So when I stacked her heart-shaped containers behind my heart-shaped candy dish filled with chocolates she giggled.  Now Judy loves me, too!

This composition was a bit tricky to stage because I set it up on polar fleece! The items kept sliding.  AND it was just as hard to execute. The whites had so much reflected color to capture. And the only real white was in the highlights.  So many reflections!

Thank you for visiting,
